Off and on I have purchased additional cabinets before I moved, but never completely redid a kitchen. I have decent wooden cabinets in both kitchens in my duplex, but I brought along some of the extras I had purchased.
The walls here do not always hold screws and hubby and I are old folks who have a hard time with heavy stuff, like an oak cabinet. We also did not want to mount it on the wall and have it fall on someone.
I have a number of "candle poles" that my daughter @svhobbie made before her wedding. They do not get much use. I just put new varnish on two of them.
I will use two of them to hold up this cabinet that is giving me fits. Hubby has put wall anchors in, but it will be nice to have some support for them as well. More shelves! Just what I want.
Then we will cut the door through to connect the kitchens. I am so excited.

My son in law will help out when they visit before Christmas.

It is up. We thought of a variety of ways to do this first. It is just a small cabinet but it is oak.

I have never had enough good cabinets. I like these older ones.

@GardenGerty I agree with you, lots and lots of cabins in a home is a bonus. We've got lots in the house as well as out in the garage, it helps with the organization.

@GardenGerty We have moved 4 times since 2001 - I get bored easily.

I think this was mostly awkward. We figure things out to make it easier, like using the decorative wooden poles.

It will not be super big, as these were kitchens in a duplex and small. It will be more usable than any I have had. It will be a while before it is finished as well.

We are using wall anchors for everything as we decide where they will be permanently.

I´m doing some repairs at my house as you know, but everything is so expensive! I like good things that last long so I buy them one by one. My kitchen is not big, but my hubby built the cabinets so every inch is well used.

I think older things often are better built. I am enjoying my house but it is a long way from where it needs to be.

I have doors to the laundry on one end. Where the laundry was on the other end I have put the other extra cabinets.
