It must be late

Because it's dark outside. I spent a little time on myLot this morning before church, but then I was out of the house for several hours. When I got back, I found myself jealous of all the lovely pies they had for their Family Day dinner at church. We didn't stay because my sister gets tired so easily. She's just had a really rough week following radiation treatments. So the first thing I had to do was to make a pie. Oh. My. Goodness. It was the best pie I ever made.. Once it was done, I realized they probably wanted a meal first, so I made lupper (lunch/supper). Then, realizing it's trash day tomorrow, I had The Boy help me with cleaning out the guinea pig cages. I like to do them the day before trash day, so we can throw all that horrible, nasty, dirty bedding away and have it taken away as soon as possible. At this point, I decided that it must be awfully late because it is so dark, and there can't be much time left for myLotting today. It's 6:15. When am I ever going to get used to this seasonal darkness and short days? When the days get shorter in the winter, do you get less done because the darkness is signalling to your brain that it's nighttime, and it's too late to start anything? I do.

I think we should do like the bears, hibernate and wake up in spring.

@Rollo1 I could see a video of it. I've seen enough beautiful snow to last me a few years.

I don't think people want to be out in the dark much anywhere, it's nicer to be at hime.

It looks very delicious. I wasn't on MyLot too much during the day either. I had all sorts of chores that needed to be done.

The way I look at chores is, that the more I have, the opportunity there is to find fun things to do while avoiding them.

It freaks me out. I start getting sleepy, then see it's only seven o'clock. Sigh.

It really does mess with your head, doesn't it? Then the evening seems so long, and I keep thinking about bed.

It's getting dark earlier every day. I was waiting for the washing machine to finish yesterday to peg the clothes outside but it was too dark by 5.45pm, I'd thought it was light until 6.

Yeah, this is the time of year when we'll gain more weight than we wanted to and tend to sleep more, I think I'll get fat, hibernate then when spring rolls round I'll be all slender and of course HUNGRY. I like the hibernating part, but who wants to gain lots of weight, right?

I get too sleepy a couple of hours before bedtime these days. The darkness tricks my brain too.

We don't experience that here, but when I used to live in the States I remember being the least productive when the days were shorter. Not good for a student. Not good.

It's one of the hazards of the season. I'm doing what I can to push through and not look outside when it starts to get that time, so my brain will keep doing what it has to instead of succumbing to the yawns that automatically happen when the sun goes down. That pie looks super delicious. I hope you saved me a slice
