How much time do you give

Before deciding that somebody is ignoring you? My ex boyfriend of 20 years ago sent a message on Facebook. I replied back, asked how he's been ect. etc. He did read the message, however he never responded and it's going on three weeks now. So, now I'm confused. It has occurred to me that he might still be angry over the way I broke up with him. We're not talking your typical break up here. I was a certified blitch back then, y'all.

Why would he send you a message first and then not reply back? Sounds strange to me. Anyways, I am actually quite friendly with my exes except for 1. My "first love" I guess you can call him. We tried to stay friends, but him and my now husband didn't get along (gee I can't imagine why) so of course I chose my husband over trying to keep in touch with the ex. He didn't respect that I had a new man and a new life. He just became not a nice person anymore. So I ended things. It's been about 5 years since we last spoke, but because of a mutual friend of ours, he never seems to really leave my life. Ugh -.- But as far as your situation goes, 20 years is a long time to still hold a grudge.

True. Some people can hold a grudge forever though. I hope that's not the case because I'd like to believe all my long lost friends have been living happy lives.

@cupkitties Well, I do hope you 2 truly can be friends. Maybe in the distant future, me and my ex can be friends. Or maybe some people aren't meant to be in your life. And that's OK too.

I'm just curios about why did he send you message at the first place & yet will not reply to you after you responded ? What's maybe his reason of doing that?

That's exactly whats confusing about it. He contacted me first, so I don't get it.

Maybe he is unsure if he even wants to talk to you if it was that bad.

Yeah. That's true. I wouldn't blame him either.
