Tonight is a little exciting because I think we will have a new episode of "Home Fires" from PBS. It airs on Sundays (I think) and we're usually watching The Walking Dead, so we catch it later in the week on the PBS Roku channel.
Home Fires is a British series about a small village in Cheshire during WWII. Unlike many series that are set during that time period, the storylines focus on the women of the community and their efforts to keep those home fires burning while the men go off to war. They and their "Women's Initiative" seek to keep the community involved in supporting the war effort but also keeping their own spirits and hearts intact despite the numerous hardships and heartaches that the war brings to each family.
It's a quiet little story, with characters that ring true. If you haven't seen this show, I highly recommend it. If you have seen it, what do you think of it?

I haven't seen them and not sure if they are aired here. It sounds interesting, I don't think there are many shows that focus on that angle during the war.

It sounds like it would be a cozy show to watch. Especially with winter coming on.
