I have just realised that my router has not arrived

Last month I was asked by my ISP to take a new contract for my internet access, which I accepted. My previous contract expired about 11 years ago and I have simply continued paying the monthly fee, so the 2 year agreement was academic to me and they reduced my fees as well. During the course of the conversation I was also offered a new router for just £6.99 for signing up. My current router is fine, but at that price it seemed worth having because a spare router will be convenient. It has just occurred to me that I have heard nothing since that date, despite my payment being adjusted and the new contract in operation. The £6.99 was paid for with my Debit card, with the payment being taken from my bank account on 21st October. I am in no particular hurry because the router is not going to be used immediately, but it seems odd that nothing has yet been mentioned. It looks as though it would be advisable for me to telephone them tomorrow to find out what is happening.

I hope you get the router early.

It will certainly not be early since it was paid for 4 weeks ago. Of course the timing is not important to me, but I do need to confirm that it has not been overlooked.

@Asylum Right as it could be someone messed up the order and it was never put in.

I'm sure a phone call or an e-mail will have it on your doorstep within a couple of days

All I really require is assurance that it has not simply been overlooked.

@Asylum they probably had so many take up the order they have to wait for new stock to arrive.

@valmnz Quite possibly, but in such a case I should have been notified before now as a matter of routine.

If you still have received it I would definitely call about it and ask when you can expect it since you have paid for it and the money was taken out of your account.

It is a good job that I made this post because I had forgotten again until reading a few comments here this morning.

I would call, especially if you've paid for it. Usually those things go out right away.

It should certainly have arrived by now because it has been 4 weeks so far.

I think it's better than you call them and ask, this sounds fishy.

I finally managed to make contact and the order was on the system but not activated, which has now been corrected.

@LadyDuck I received a router when I first joined Plus Net back in 2002, but since then I have bought a couple of new routers myself. My current one is several years old, but is a good model and is 802.11n, so I certainly do not need a new one. Of course at £6.99 it is worth having for future use.

@Asylum Now you should receive the new router. Our router is 5 year old, it's a ZyXEL, it's a good router and we had it free, when they increased the Internet speed. Las month, our provided proposed to change our router for around 20$. I asked which brand the new one? And the reply was Pirelli (???!!!) We refused the offer.

There might be dozens like you that forget about the small amount and don't get back to them.

This is quite possible, but I will certainly not just ignore this. Like most people, if I received a bill that was £10 higher then it would not bother me, because losing less than that in this manner would annoy me.
