Why do people prefer ppv over AdSense?

I am a part of a few websites run by Harlow McGaw Media that allow people to earn money from publishing their work there. When the sites went from ppv (pay-per-view) earnings to AdSense earnings I heard that a lot of people left the sites. I get that some probably left the sites because they don't have an AdSense account but it seems most of the people that left the sites left because the sites no longer paid per view. This got me thinking... Why did people do that. Earning with ppv is not better than earning with AdSense. Yes, with ppv you don't have to worry about ad clicks but if traffic to your posts is low you will potentially earn much less with ppv than you would with AdSense. Also, on any given day you can make more money from a single ad click than you'd make from your accumulated views (especially if traffic to your posts is not high.) So, why do people prefer earning with ppv to earning with AdSense?

Well, that's a new one for me, it's the first time I've heard anything about ppv. May I ask that you elaborate a little on the difference?

Ahhh, so that's the difference @lovebuglena I've only used these type sites where people get a small earnings for simply interacting or writing something. Thanks for explaining that.

Harlow McGaw Media has many sites but two that I am referring to are Daily Two Cents and Writedge. They are fairly new.
