Can I have a drum roll please?

As many of you know we have been helping friends from New York find a home here in my neck of the woods in Tennessee. Last week I sent them a link to a home that I didn't realize they had already seen months ago. But after they thought about it they realized that they did love that house but it had been pushed aside by other homes they were checking out. So my husband and I volunteered to go check it out and give our option. It's only a 20 minute ride and it was a beautiful day. Anyway I digress.... Here's where the drum roll comes in.... They made an offer on that house on Saturday evening and after a 24 hour wait and a counter offer - they found out last evening that the sellers accepted their offer and now the home inspection is being set up and closing is set for early in January. It was fun working with them and their realtor and I can officially say that I know all the details about every home for sale in a 30 mile radius. If anyone wants to move here I can point you in the right direction! We were glad to help and we are more glad that it's over!

We are currently searching, but in the Wyoming Valley area of PA-I cannot believe that I'm willing to go where it is so cold, but its closer to my husband's doctors. Our requirements make it difficult to find suitable homes, the most important being a split level or a ranch, so that I can walk around easily without too much risk of a fall. We had found two that seemed ideal...but both appear to have gone off the market. So back to the search! We don't really know anyone in the area, but the nurses at the hospital have been giving us suggestions of where NOT to move. I just hope it warms up soon (yeah right!), so that we can go look at homes and bring our dog with us (it is an hour drive one-way). Your friends are fortunate to have you help them with their home search-and now they'll be close enough to visit with!

No - I have had a lot of experience the last 14 years...we have moved 4 times and the first house we bought here we looked at 30 of them in 2 1/2 days. I am too old to work at any job!

That sounds like one of those all's well that ends well stories. And how nice for you your friend will be so close by.

I think we are all glad the hunt is over and things will be able to calm down for them and us! They will be abut 20 mins. away from us.

That was awfully generous of you two to devote so much time for this.

Thanks, I know what it's like living in one state and trying to house hunt 800 miles away. So we figured any help would make it a little easier on them.
