I had two boxes with potatoes in the garage. One had old potatos and the other had new ones we bought last week.
The old potatoes were past eating. They had big sprouts and I could not figure why hadn´t they died.
There is this piece with extra soil, somewhat like a terrace near the apricot tree, that Marco had left when he put the grass outside. Leticia said, why don´t we throw there the old potatos.
I came to read at the web and it seems that potatos are easy to grow. Anyway, if nothing comes of them, nothing is lost. I would have had to throw them away.
So we dug the soil, wished for some sand we did not have and planted the old potatoes. Wish me luck!
Before we went to Aruba, Leticia had planted some 6 potato plants. Today she saw that 2 of them were dry so the took them out. And when she did it, there came out a few new very small potatoes
We will eat them tomorrow.

I do the same when I find sprouted potatoes. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I try to grow anything that comes into my hands
I hope those potatoes will give us some fun and enough potatoes for a dish of boiled potatoes with butter.

@marguicha Plant the sprouted potatoes pretty deep so that the tubers can grow from them. That should help- the deep dirt will give the tubers a place to thrive. Good luck!

I´m looking forward for my bounty
. Today Leticia pulled 2 potato plants that she planted before we went to Aruba. Both were dry. She dug around them and we ate breaded meat with new potatoes and a kale creamfrom my garden. YUM!
