It is getting cool now. The morning was cold that I covered myself with a blanket last night. This morning, it was gloomy with some drizzles. It is this kind of weather that the blood-sucking mosquitoes come out and bite the humans. We dread if the anopheles or aedes aegyptii mosquitoes come buzzing around and land on our arms or lower extremities. We dread if we get the hemorrhagic fever (dengue) or malaria, and other diseases where the vectors are these insects. So my sister lit a coil. This is Baygon. It is placed at the last step of the stair just close to the entrance door. It has the mild fragrance of a violet flower. I hope these blood-suckers will stay away from us. What do you use to be free from mosquitoes and their bites?

@birjudanak yes, especially if they fly low... they sound like small tornadoes buzzing in our ears.

but the trees can also be the houses of mosquitoes especially if there are stagnant waters near the trunk of the tree. I agree that our surroundings should be clean and free from stagnant waters in bottles and tyres or wheels.

That coil is one way of getting rid of those mosquitoes indeed . My mother-in-law sometimes does that in their bedroom since it's not screened . Our bedroom is one of the two bedrooms that is screened in the house . Whenever , we enter the bedroom , we close the door at once . And once in a month i spray it with insect repellant .

I use exactly the same coils outdoor, inside I use electric mosquito killers that do not produce smoke.

@ridingbet Yes, you plug them and they diffuse a smell that keeps the sucking blood beasts away.

really? I think that electric mosquito killers are those that you just plug in and the fumes spread around?

oh, we also have that electric fly swatter. the net is small enough to catch a mosquito. Once fully charged and you hit a fry or a mosquito, it gives that sound of "TZZZZTTT!. it is like a tennis racket, right?

Sometimes I also light one outside my bedroom near the staircase... the mosquitoes love to stay there. Lol

all dim places and near some water--- these blood suckers are truly romantic. even when I go to bed, I get the coils lit and place them at the foot part of the bed.

@ridingbet but is it true that it is harmful to our health?

Usually they do not want to bite me. When I am having problems I like to use lemon grass oil to repel them.

there is a lotion mosquito repellent here, named OFF. this lotion smells pretty bad. maybe it smells bad so the mosquitoes will not land and bite our arms?

we spray all corners of the house especially those dim areas, and water from bottles are always thrown, but I joke by saying the mosquitoes that come bite us are the mosquitoes of our neighbors.

well, that is why the coil should be lit far from people, because the fumes are not good to inhale.

Here the mosquitoes are quite bad in the hot summer months but disappear when it begins to cool down. I usually light a coil if I want to sit outside after dusk since they are at their worse then.

here, whether summer or cold season, the mosquitoes are always around, flying from dusk till dawn. Some are even so tame that they land and stay on my arm even though I am quick in 'splatting' them with my hand. these are the black and white winged blood suckers.
