Christmas Eve early

Oh my I am ready. It's not a stocking that I want to grab and rummage around in. No.
Every year for some time my family has engaged in a Literary Silly. I write a real short story, daughter ably illustrates and hubby binds. This has gotten to be quite the production. It means a trip to Staples cause they copy the beauty out.
It means a trip to the post office, me towing a sunflower printed bag overflowing with brown envelopes- 30 to 35 Tales going anywhere from Canada to Texas and Florida.
But first: that first peek, that admiration of daughter's illustrations. That first sigh when the entire volume is bound, cover on correctly, back paper on, ribbon all hubby tied. Oh that first. Best ripping Christmas stocking ever.

That sounds like such a cute idea. I used to send out a funny version of "A Visit From St. Nicolas". It went over well. I just got out of the mood I guess.

@gr8bit I have been told to put my words into short paragraphs. . One lady about cussed me out. Thanks for taking time to read me twice and to well, read and post an answer. Wonder what the postage is from my house to yours?? (I wrote poetry before I wrote short stories.)

@Gr8bit Your explanation is grand. I call that kind of 'other' writing The grass is green writing. So here goes: instead of me writing The grass is green I'd probably take you out on a trip through a memory that reminded me of green grass or how that green grass feels. Good to hear from you.

@sallypup I am not a writer or anything, so I'd never tell anyone how to write, I meant the wording, it is not straight forward.. like.. " I bought some envelopes today" but please do not get me wrong I like how it comes across. To me, it is like speaking to a poet and everyone is like wow but to him he is just speaking normal... Hope that makes sense :-)
