December 7th, 2015 is the 74th anniversary of the day that Japan attacked Pearl Harbour and other areas.
I was just listening once again to the famous speech that FDR delivered on December 8th, 1941.
Although I have listened to it countless times, I keep coming back every year on the anniversary of this terrible tragedy.
I have to admit that I am a huge fan of American history. I have read quite a few books on Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He has always been my favorite president.
You can listen to the most famous speech in American politics if you follow this link.
The Presidential Address to Congress on December 8, 1941. Known as the Infamy Speech, it was delivered at 12:30 p.m. that day to a Joint Session of Congress ...

The two most illogical acts concerning the Second World War were the attack on Pearl Harbour and the German attack on Russia, which suddenly brought two huge countries into the war. It would have made more sense for Hitler to consolidate the territory he was involved I before trying to encompass anything else.

@marlina Adolf Hitler was an excellent Chancellor when he started out, turning Germany around and boosting the economy. His legacy in the Volkswagon still thrives today. He did such an excellent job that he was declared Times Magazine Man of the Year in 1938.
Sadly his desire for power soon took control of him and ended up leading the world into disaster.

this is before my time, so the horror I understand I am sure is much less than what was really like. I can only compare it to things like OK bombing and 911.

@marlina oh I know, I just have trouble with fully understanding it, from a personal level I can only associate it with what i have experienced in the horror levels.

We of course were at his Presidential Library last week and we got to listen to that speech there along with others from his career.

We honored a soldier who was serving at Pearl Harbor that day--not many left! I often wonder how many people under 40 even know what December 7 is all about?

Thank you for providing that link. I'm sure that I have heard the speech before but it was a long time ago, so I appreciate the opportunity to listen to it again.
