Do you agree?

In each and every life experience, whether it is negative or positive, there are as many pros as cons? Do you believe that? This James Arthur Ray fellow who wrote "The Secret" and taught the law of attraction is being profiled. In 2009 he held a retreat in Arizona where, during a sweat lodge, three people died. The people taking part had fasted before hand and now were in this hot sweat lodge for a long time. I think that Ray went too far. I think that the fundamental things he taught sounds good but then he went too far. Teaching people to be positive and to bring more positive things into your life is one thing. But when he says things like there were actually good things that came out of the Hollocaust and 9/11 I think that is going too far. He was actually charged with three counts of man slaughter. He was charged with three counts of negligent homicide and did two years in prison. Your thoughts.

I have mixed feelings on this one. Claiming that something good came from the Holocaust and the attack on the World Trade Centre does not suggest that he condones the acts in any way.

That's true. But do we really find positive out come in either of these?

@celticeagle There is nothing significant that springs to mind, but I cannot say for certain that nothing beneficial has arisen as a result.

I felt that he went way too far with his experimental retreat where people lost their lives as a result which should never had happened. Looking at the positiveness of something horrific and bad is trying to convince people that the 9/11 and Holocaust is GOOD. On the other hand, it is giving people false closure or consolation when there are issues where people had been the cause of these horrific events. How could we be positive if the people responsible are not held accountable, getting away with murder and resolve the lost of precious lives. It just is unthinkable and wrong here. He should be given a life sentence without parole, and let's see him try to be positive about that.

@celticeagle People always do that when they try to proof a point. ISIS is a really current and real example.

I don't think we need to go to that extreme. Then we become like him.

Some people are so naïve to listen to people like KORESH! Remember Waco, Texas?

Personally I have never found a positive out of a disaster like 9/11 and the Holocaust was run by the devil. Nothing good happened there either. I'm glad he spent time in jail. he probably should have stayed longer.

That's for sure. I get intrigued by people like this. Why? What made them? Weird.

I think he deserved more time. I think he was trying to make himself like a god with his cult-like activities.

If this was the person's first time in sweat then i'm sure they had no idea what they were in for, but i have enough knowledge to know not to fast before..He needed to explain the circumstances that might happen..those poor people..

I guess I can see what he is trying to say, to find the silver lining in the face of disasters, but I think the cons definitely out weight any positives we can find in those disasters. It is really a stretch to find any positives there.
