Frank Sinatra was born 100 years ago this week and on Saturday I will be attending a Gala Charity event in a local theatre which will see local artists and dancers pay tribute to "The Voice", performing many of his most well-known songs.
His music may not be to everyone's taste but you all know at least one song, right?
I don't have a particular favourite but I often find myself singing one of them while busy doing something else. Strangers in the Night or My Way are usually among those that I frequently hum.
I am looking forward to an interesting evening and will be treating some of my friends as an early gift for Christmas. We will be having a meal before the concert which has the same name as the title here "Thank You Frank".

Maybe the songs were 'easy on the ear'? He had some sort of charm which appealed to the ladies of that era too I guess.

@mysdianait In many of the films that he made his singing was bordering on talking for much of the time, which I could never relate to.

@Asylum Me neither. It was the songs not him, as a singer or an actor, that I enjoyed . They still have something special about them.

It sounds like a lot of fun! I am old enough to remember him, my parents enjoyed his music and others in the RatPack!

It was indeed a lovely evening with 2 hours of his songs performed brilliantly by local artists and choreography danced by girsl from 2 local dance schools. A success for those involved-

I put on music when we have Italian Food at home and its always Frank Sinatra. One of the local Italian places we go for special occasions plays a lot of Frank's songs. I like My Way.

That is one of his songs that I know almost all of the lyrics and can sing along with it while it is playing

That song brings back so many memories for me too as do many others. I am not particularly attached to any of them but many of them remind of something special from the past.

No I have not seen anything (except for right now while writing this) on television but, as his parents were Italian, there will be something at the weekend here for sure.
