Christmas Eve came silently I could hear the church bells ring so clear. bing, bong, bing bong i won’t be long. before Christmas is here snowflakes falling softly to the ground making a white wonderland all around Christmas lights merrily twinkling in each window. Christmas trees sparkling and shimmering yule logs burning in fireplaces families full of love and good cheer children straining to hear reindeer hooves and jingle bells wondering when Santa will be near bells a ringing loud and clear bing, bong, bing, bong it won’t be long before Christmas is here! I think Christmas brings out the child in most everyone.

As we get older, I tend to think Christmas is definitely for children. That is a lovely poem.

Very nice poem. I am not sure that Christmas brings out the child that is still in me. I feel depressed during the holidays, thinking to all those who are no more here to celebrate with us.

@LadyDuck I too get a bit low. I miss those who are not here too but I also let the magic of Christmas into my heart. Our cat Sid helps a lot. I cannot look at that furry face staring at the Christmas decorations and not smile.
