...bringing in a couple of keys. Arlo Guthrie was on PBS doing a special called Alice's Restaurant 50 Year Anniversary Concert recently and I taped it on my DVR. Was just listening to it. He is singing the title of this post now. He is supposed to do Alice's Restaurant and that is what I am waitng for. My all time favorite silliness song of all time. He was just talking about his experience at Woodstock. Do you know what I am talking about? Image courtesy of Flickr.com

This obviously a reference to his appearance at the Woodstock festival back in the 1960s.

@celticeagle Yes it definitely was, although I do not think that I have ever heard it since, which must be approaching 50 years ago by now.

Sorry, I do not know what you are talking about. It's good that you enjoyed the concert, though you didn't get to listen to your favorite song. Well, I am going to check out the song in YouTube soon.

I certainly do! Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendric, Santana, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez!!! Last year Joan Baez came to my country and gave 2 concerts. I knew a girl who works on TV and she gave me 2 tickets in the 5th row, center. I invited a friend who stopped all she was doing that day and we had the evening of a lifetime. I was happy to discover that Joan Baez is still singing in the same line she sang so many decades ago when we both were young. I saw there many elderly people watching with the same wet eyes that I had.

@celticeagle I don´t consider myself elderly. I´m a 70 year young fan. Joan Baez not omly sang, but she also danced. WOW, WOW, WOW!!! There was a young man around my age in front of me who wiped his eyes as I did.

Same with Gordon Lightfoot. Still playing. Looking older, and sounding older, but still at it. Lots of walkers and wheelchairs in the audience.

@celticeagle apart from the catchy chorus the song is a long spoken comedy monologue about Guthrie getting busted for fly tipping which the cops totally over reacted to

I have seen footage of Woodstock on tv, it really was interesting, many say there was a dark side to it, to others it was about peace, love and music.

It was three days of complete peace and no violence. Can't say that about adults ever getting together for that long without some kind of violence.

Alice's Restaurant was a good silly song. I was alive (a kid) when Woodstock happened, and Joni Mitchell wrote a good song by that name. I have the Crosby Stills and Nash version in my collection. I sing Deportees, by Guthrie's father.
