Saturday, December 12th, would have been Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday! Can you believe he would have been that old, if he were still alive? Ol' Blue Eyes, as he is affectionately known, was born on December 12, 1915.
The Chairman of the Board, another famous nickname of his, charmed millions throughout his singing career with his catchy tunes, good looks, and powerful vocals.
Although I was too young to enjoy Frank Sinatra in his prime years, his music still resonated with me, even up to his death in 1998. To me, his music is timeless, and will still be popular long into the future.
Are you a fan of Ol' Blue Eyes? What are your favorite songs of his?

I was too young to appreciate him when he was alive, but I do now. I watched that special on CBS last Sunday night. I really enjoyed it and was glad that they stuck to same arrangements of the songs. Those were some of the best singers, and none could hold a candle to Sinatra.

Aw man, I didn't realize CBS did a special on him! I'm disappointed that I missed it. It would have been fun and interesting to watch.

@moffittjc It was a 2-hour special with popular artists singing his songs all fully orchestrated by a huge band / orchestra. Performers were Tony Bennet, Lady GaGa, Harry Connick Jr, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Sam Smith, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown, Seth MacFarlane, Usher, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks Kathrine McPHe, Nick Jonas, and Juanes.

I love to listen to Frank Sinatra. I love his voice because he sings as though he is smiling and enjoying the pleasure of singing. I like most of his songs, except for My Way, that sounded arrogant. I liked Nancy with the smiling face, because it was a father singing about his daughter. I liked the lyrics for most of his songs and the way in which he managed to find a rhyme, even if he cheated a little with some of them.

He was the part owner of the Cal Neva Casino in Reno but one of his partners was banned from the State of Nevada, I don't know all the details on that but I heard he was a mafia ;person. Frank from what I have heard was always on the fringe of the mafia but who knows and does it really matter now.

I think My Way was one of--if not the first--Frank Sinatra songs I ever heard. As a result, it is one of my favorites, although you are right that it is kind of arrogant. But then again, he was called "Chairman of the Board" for a reason, I'm sure most of the things he did in his life, he did "his way!" lol

My best friend hired a Frank Sinatra impersonator to sing at his wedding, and I swear the guy looked and sang just like the real Blue Eyes! Everyone was completely fascinated by this guy, and it almost made it seem like we were all watching the real Frank Sinatra perform. It was very impressive and powerful!

He certainly had his own style of music, keeping the Big Band sounds of the 40's alive and well many, many decades later
