It's Not Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Anywhere I go. Take a look around the town, green grass is all around. Not a snowflake touching on the ground.
The lawn ornaments are out of place, where do they think we live? It could be any far off summer place.
Okay that was my awful play on a good song with what I'm seeing here in 'Winter Wonderland' which this certainly isn't. I heard a rumor today that we're supposed to get snow. I don't know how that is possible, we're still in the 40s and tomorrow we're supposed to get up to 55. It's not going to snow, rain, but not snow. I just checked the ten day forecast bringing it to December 21 and the temps barely get into the 30s, and not a snowflake in the forecast. It's beginning to look like a very green Christmas this year.
It's interesting to note that we're playing Dallas tomorrow here at Lambeau where in the 60s this time of year it was the Ice Bowl. Tomorrow it will be the 'Rain Bowl' as we have 100% rain prediction for the day.
So how is the weather where you live?
Thanks for reading?

I would take one day of your high temperatures, for a change of pace. I am sure it must be steamy though.

@Jessicalynnt We have puddles two inches deep, and yes lots of mud. They're calling for another two inches of rain before it's done and lots of flooding. There's a flooding watch in effect until 4 PM tomorrow.

Unseasonably warm here too and tomorrow is supposed to hit 70 yikes. Can't say I'm missing snow and happy with seeing green grass rather than everything covered in white

@Marilynda1225 It seems the weather is being nice to you after what you endured last year.

It's 60 here in the Chicago area. At least you don't have to shovel rain. And I'm not even going to say a word about being a die hard Bears fan lol.

they do say that certain parts of the country are having a warm spell but in Illinois that is unbelievable for this time of year.

It is in the 40's for highs here. The weather people constantly contradict each other. One site said we had snow moving in, the next site said thunderstorms. All I know for sure is that I hear the wind. Good luck to the Packers.

I turned the television on before I went to church this morning and it showed a snowflake on the graph for later this week. However, I won't believe it until I see it. It's much too warm all the way through next week. I woke to a downpour this morning.
Thanks. It should be an interesting Packers game with all the rain we're getting today.

It sounds quite strange to me. I have been reading from mylot discussions, Winter hasn't come yet. I thought it's supposed to be very cold by now. But is it better not to be too cold?
Well, I am living in a tropical country, so it's almost hot everyday, but it's also raining almost everyday now. It can be very sunny in the morning, then suddenly rain heavily in the afternoon.

@just4him Now I understand better. Thanks.
I ttink it's still better if everything follows its own rhythm, even the seasons and weather, then it will be better for everyone, including the environment. Hope the Mother Nature notices this and helps to bring back the normal weather to you.

We actually need the cold. At this time of year when the seasons change, flu, pneumonia, and colds are common. When the temps start to drop and get below freezing, it kills all harmful bacteria causing people to be sick so we are once again healthy. So yes, it's better to be cold.

The weather here is wet, to much water as we have had rain for days now, and I am getting tired of it. I want the sunshine, but it just won't come. I even forget what the sun ooks like since it hasn't been out in days. I think it will be partly sunny tomorrow though, but right back to rain again on Wednesday. This is just getting so tiresome, and makes me so gloomy, that I just want to go back to bed and put the covers over my head and stay there.

@just4him It seems that the weather is changing all over the place. The east coast is having heat, here, in Oregon, we are warmer, but rainy. It is really crazy, that is for sure. I kee praying that the sun will come out, and stay out for good.

Considering two years ago my water pipes froze on Christmas morning I'm enjoying a very mild start to winter. I'm walking around outside today in a T-shirt because it's nearly 62 out. I've been telling people: "we have Christmas in July all the time, it's about time we have a little bit of July in Christmas!"

@just4him Yes. I was just in the hay loft all morning and the early afternoon as well. I only needed a T-shirt, which is something that can't be done easily at this time of year.

You surprised me with your comment, until you said you don't have to drive in it. Could you send some this way? I'm beginning to forget what snow looks like
I'm hoping we have some for Christmas, but it's doubtful.

I will need to convert 17 to F, though if memory serves, that's a bit chilly.

I live near Houston and I'd just appreciate it staying chilly. Yesterday, my house was 78 degrees for most of the day with fans on and windows open. It was a bit cooler than that outside but I comfortably wore shorts and a wife beater to walk down to the park. It's extra frustrating with a baby because I'm never sure what clothes to put him to sleep in. I don't want him to overheat and I don't want him to freeze during the night.

It will really be nice when the weather straightens out and you don't need to worry how to dress your baby.
