Have you adjusted your earnings expectations on MyLot?

When I first signed up at MyLot, two and a half months ago, I was making a few cents a day, and enjoying the interaction. But much to my pleasant surprise, within a few weeks, I was making over 50 cents a day, and I noticed that my earnings were gradually creeping upward. With the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, earning dropped more than 50%, but I still enjoyed the interaction. Now, I've adjusted my expectations for what I can make in a single day. Even with Thanksgiving long gone, my "moving average" is still about 40% of what it was at my peak. Have you adjusted your expectations as well? I'm not complaining--I still enjoy the interaction, and I still make way more than I did at "that other site." But I'm no longer engaging in "irrational exuberance" about what I can make here.

I enjoy being here, the money is not very good, but it's fun. I don't have great expectations here.

I admit that I was developing "great expectations" as my earnings rate kept increasing over my first month here.

@Marcyaz It'd hard to tell whether the pay rate has dropped. But I think people are a bit less active than before the Holidays set in.

When I first started back on here in July I was making money hand over fist. Now, with the suggestion option gone I have noticed about a third of that gone. Then over the last month or so I have noticed probably another 10-20% difference. I think that admin may have changed things a bit since the beginning which I understand but I really miss that 30-40% more that I was getting there at the beginning.

We can still suggest others' posts, right? I had some people who were suggesting all of their own posts to me. That was a bit overwhelming. Plus some of them didn't ever visit my posts even when I visited theirs. That made me feel a bit "used."

@LoriAMoore I think it is for suggesting a post that you think your virtual friend would like. It has to be someone else's not your own

The only adjustment for me would be that initially I expected to cash out every other month, which was the average for me in the past. Now I seem to be able to reach that target every month. beyond that I do not have any expectations, so at least I will not be disappointed.

MyLot is the last thing I do each day. Most of my writing time is spent on The Daily Voice News. It is an online newspaper that the owners are trying to build up so the writers can eventually earn decent online money. Right now, most of us earn less than $5 a month, but someday it could be much more ... we think. At any rate, I enjoy writing news type articles. I do that first and then, when I'm done, I do a little on MyLot in the evening. As a result, I only earn .10 to .20 cents a day here. However, I don't think there is much residual income here and I hope someday the other site could earn me much more. I like the other writers there ... but I also like the interaction here. Either way, I think I just like the variety of writing that I get to do.

@Ketage They're a lot better than on "that other site." If you just focus on involving yourself in conversations, started by you and others, you'll do fine.

Do you get to choose what you write about over there? I checked out one website that "gave assignments," but it didn't work for me.

I just joined Mylot, @Marsha Musselman told me that quite a few bubblers are here and I rushed over, I wrote as Gommish on bubblews, but left when the site took a downturn. Not sure what to expect earnings wise.

I have noticed that even though I am doing just about the same as I was two months ago the earnings have fallen considerably but the real deal is the interaction.

I am not at home and working. I had to leave for the Marquesas and I am here now. So my earning have dropped to basically 0 per day because I have no time to come here. It is basically the first time I am here in 5 days and more than likely might be the last for a long time to come. I just missed it here and all the people and wanted to see what people were talking about since I've been gone. Wow I have missed a lot and there is no way I will catch up or even think it is possible to do this one. Have fun and see you again really soon.

@TheHorse No it is a data emergy here on the islands. Somebody destroyed data servers, NAS reconfigured, computer wipped clean and a lot of other stuff. It is a total mess and a lot of work to do. Basically for the last 5 days it is work non stop and around the clock alone. Help will arrives here on Wed and this will be so nice can use a second hand to try and get this mess cleaned up. ]

@TheHorse Surprisingly I get residual income from Infobarrel. I should put some more articles on there, not for the money so much but to keep a 'presence' there, but it's so easy here I can't get motivated to do anything else.
