Trip to Michael's

Well this morning I implemented my Christmas project plan. I had to decide where the best place was to go for what I needed, and I needed a solid plan of action.
I eliminated Wal-Mart. They no longer have a sewing department, so wouldn't have the batting I needed. So that left Michael's or Joanne Fabrics. Michael's won.
So I went in and started looking around. Let me preface this with the fact this was my first time ever in Michael's so I had no idea where I was going to find what I needed.
The hunt for a staff person was on. It didn't take long to find her and I proposed my project to her and given the time constraints, the best way to do this.
We came up with the plan -
Make pillows out of the fabric and stencil the words on with fabric paint. It really is the best solution. So with that in mind, and her directions for all the supplies needed I found all the components and headed for the checkout.
Now the supplies came to $40 and change, but when I have the pillows completed the total amount - as the commercial says - will be priceless.
So now I'm home and ready to get started here. So I'm going to get my Bible Study done and posted, and get started on the notifications.
I hope you're having a great day. Thanks for reading.

People really have no clue that handmade gifts can cost a bit more when you factor in all of the supplies needed. The good thing is that once the project is done you should have some supplies leftover so it won't cost as much to make another craft with it. Kudos!

I always love a trip to the craft store (especially Hobby Lobby). It's like going to Disneyland for me

I've been in Hobby Lobby a few times and know what you mean. My kids won't go in the store and you might find the reason funny - my son thinks they should pay him for using the name - he's not serious, but his last name and my married name was Hobby.

@just4him I buy my art supplies at Michael's, too. . . They are much cheaper than from other art supply stores here in Calgary, Canada.

If that's cheap, I don't want to know what expensive is. I was surprised when I got to the checkout how much everything was and I was doing my best to keep the cost down.

Doesn't sound like to much. How many pillows can you make with what you bought?
