I Got My New Ears Today!

United States
December 16, 2015 3:24pm CST
I picked up my first ever hearing aids today. The littlest things are so loud! The drive home in my squeaky, rattling car was interesting. The sound of my turn signal, was almost distracting. I wonder how long it will take for the oddness of having them in my ears becomes unnoticeable. They are only tiny little wires with little 1/8th inch speakers that go in the ear. I'll get used to them soon enough. I'm already adapting. I never knew my keyboard was so noisy. ha ha! *be well*

I think I may possibly need a hearing aid in the future. I need the TV louder than my husband. Is yours noticeable, or is it hidden?

They are actually very small. The part that goes over the back of the ear is smaller and more streamlined than the old fashioned ones. You can choose a color that closely matches your hair. The part that goes in the ear is a small wire, almost invisible. I also haven't had any trouble with my glasses interfering with them.

It helps if you take them out, build up gradually. I have heard a number of humorous stories about getting hearing aids.

Hope you can adjust to your new sounds quickly. It's amazing how tiny those hearing aids are

Well you're in for a treat. Avoid noisy restaurants till you get used to them. I made the mistake of taking my dad to one right after he got his new ones. Big mistake.

do you think that maybe the volume is too high?

At least your hear aids are working so that is a good thing.

Interesting title, I was wondering where a person goes to order a pair of ears, Sounds (pun intended) to me like you might have the volume turned up a little too high :)
