As I opened my laptop today, I was reminded by Google that today we must celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven´s birthday. Beethoven was a German composer borth in 1770. I´m sure that many of you have heard some of his works because is music is timeless. Beethoven was the first great composer that I heard in my life. My father loved his music and he had a record player that would be the joke of today´s children. He had a couple of records (78 rpm) and on Sunday evenings, we could listen to the Moonlight Sonata while he played with us in the living room. I´m sure many of you love the "Ode to Joy" which is the choral part of his 9th Symphonie. Happy Bithday, Beethoven! TYou will not be forgotten!

You will have to type a little louder because Beethoven was deaf.

@marguicha No, but he would need to in order to hear you wishing him a Happy Birthday To be honest I rarely listen to his music because he specialised in instrumental or orchestral compositions and I prefer opera. I know that he composed Fidelio, but I have never heard it.

@Asylum I´m not much into opera unless it is one of the better known ones. My brother is an opera nut though. I prefer Mozart´s instrumental compositions than his operas, even the best known ones.

He is also the first composer I knew, and the first music I knew about him is Fur Elise when my piano teacher taught me to play this music. I still like this piece of music very much until now. Yes, he will never be forgotten. I told my children about him, and I am sure they will tell their children, grandchildren..... Yes, music is timeless.

I do love the classical composers although Beethoven isn't my #1 favorite. I like Bach. Happy Birthday Beethoven!

I also like Bach, but I think that Beethoven was my first love. I first heard The Brandenburg Concertos when I was much older.
