Could Santa be a Criminal?

Santa is a man, a legend, admired by children around the world and capturing the dashed hopes of children long grown up.He embodies the spirit of giving and brings great joy to believers young and old. But, could he possibly be a criminal? He seems guilty of many abuses and dereliction of duty to his workers. Here is a look at the political correctness view of Santa. 1. Animal abuse Santa is most of all, an animal abuser. Consider the plight of the poor reindeer. They work a long shift with no breaks to eat hay or rest. They are expected to fly, something that does not seem normal for reindeer to do. Have they ever been examined by a veterinarian? Do they get rabies shots and inoculations against reindeer diseases? What are their living quarters like? Where does Santa get hay and grain to feed them in that frozen land? No one knows. They have to land on millions of rooftops that may, or may not, be capable of bearing that much weight. Is it safe for them? 3. Worker exploitation The elf workers are unpaid and cut off from the world. The work all the time making toys. There is no safety equipment, no vacations, no sick pay and elves are unable to change professions. A brave journalist endured danger to bring us the social action cartoon about an elf who wanted to be a dentist. Who knows? 4. Breaking and Entering Santa is well known for breaking into millions of houses around the world. He has the most advanced B&E techniques in the world. He can go into a chimney in a flash dragging his bag of toys behind him. So far, he has not gone into a chimney with a fire but luck often runs out. Christmas time is winter time in much of the world. 5. Suspicious Activity with Children Could Santa be a child abuser? It has long been rumored that Santa brings coal to boys and girls that he considers bad. He breaks hearts and promises by not bringing some children the things that lived in their dreams for the whole year. Some children get mountains of presents while others barely get a treat with dinner. Others don’t get dinner at all. He is a poor example for children to follow. His overweight body, ample facial hair, and his close physical contact with millions of children in malls and parties around the world could be misinterpreted. Santa smokes a pipe, making children want to emulate him and start a dangerous habit for life. Also, every year, reports emerge of Santa getting drunk, Santa hauled off by the cops and Santa fighting with others or running off with the charity kettle money. 6. Criminal Surveillance he knows if you have been bad or good The governments of the world have nothing over Santa Claus. Santa blatantly ignores privacy laws and in voyeuristic fashion spies on the little children of the world. 7. Spousal Abuse What about Mrs. Claus? Do we know her name? She is cut off from her relatives and has no friends. That is a classic sign of an abused woman. What does she do with her time? This is an attempt to look at the other side of Santa. Years ago, none of these things would be a problem. Now political correctness has taken over and Santa does not make the grade. That is Santa, the man. Remember, he represents the spirit of giving which we should all culltivate.

Oh dear me! I shall never be able to say "Ho ho ho!" with quite the same ring now that I have all these accusations hanging over me. I shall have to notify my lawyers now and see if we can't come up with a refutation of all these dreadful crimes. I must say, here and now, that, although I do my best to make sure that all of my helpers are fully imbued with the spirit of Christmas, there have, of late, been some who have not been members of the FCU and who have not only been spreading false rumours about the elves' remuneration, but about a certain reindeer who, apparently, has a glowing nasal appendage. There are also, sadly, those who pretend that they are of our fraternity but are definitely nothing to do with Father Christmas and have never been accredited. They have been known to have dirty beards and completely unrealistic eyebrows, to have breath like a Christmas pudding while on duty in malls and shops and children's parties, to wear ordinary shoes instead of boots and even to be guilty of worse things I would rather not mention. As for the reindeer, you clearly are not aware that their natural food is moss and lichen which they scrape away the snow to obtain. It is the carrots which are imbued with the magic of belief by the children who leave them which give them the strength to fly.

WATCH IT!!! You have crossed the line! SANTA is THE man. I could go over all the false accusation you make but I'll just take the first one!! You should live like his reindeer--they never get sick--have you ever heard of ANY of them dieing?? Look at how fit they are--how well they eat, how well they are taken care of--they only work one night a year--the other 364 (or in Leap Year--my birthday!--365) they loaf, sleep, play games, live in the finest and best individual homes, etc. I could go on but let me just say in spite of the hateful post he will still bring you something for Christmas and I don't mean coal!! Who are you going to pick on next--the New Year's old man and baby?????

I did not think of that. It is an excellent idea. Thanks for the suggestion. Come to think of it, those reindeer are probably a couple hundred years old. Good point.

This indeed is character assassination. I will be speaking to my litigation team as soon as I have finished this comment. It is almost as if you are trying to imply he is a fictitious character. You are probably right and are given honorary status in the Global PC brigade! The magical dream society for fiction are going to head hunt you too and have you mounted at their Headquarters! Have a great Christmas!!

Good luck with that. I live on a road so remote that I need GPS to find it.

somehow, yeah, when we wanna express the real opinions but it turns out to be an abnormal. And you wanna tell friends: Hey look!, this is true right? and friends take a few minutes to think through, and say: yeah, i think you are right. But come on, let's forget about it and join this party now. So, Santa is here, he will be and Merry Xmas!

Anyone can look at anything and see negativism. It is sad that you felt it necessary to do this. I certainly hope that this was meant to be funny.

@celteagle- Actually, I was writing this for a manuscript. The publisher requires top of the line writing. This is obviously not it. I did not feel like bringing it up to standard so thought I would use it to amuse people here. Sorry it makes you sad. And yes, it was meant to be funny.

I've never seen Santa smoking, that's a new one for me! I have told my eldest daughter ever since she was a baby that Santa is not real, that he is a legend that people like to perpetuate based on a kind man who lived long ago. Nevertheless she believes more steadfastly than ever and she is getting on for 10!

There are all sorts of Occ Health and Safety issues here too. Does he wear a seat belt? Is his load fastened with straps, not ropes? Is the hitch compliant with safety regulations? And so it goes.

The original version was much longer. I just picked out some good points for a shortened version. Does he file a flight plan? Why does the military track his movements? Has Osha inspected the work shop? All kinds of stuff.

Hilarious post, but I guess if you are going to take political correctness to an extreme, it sure does hit the nail on the head :) lol
