Well we are invited today at the dinner party in my sister in laws inlaws.Every year they invite us at this dinner party .They arrange a very good venue for this party. Coming to the point going to any party means choice for clothing and its always difficult to chose the clothline from wardrobe.Kids has a very smart and fresh mind in this regard. I asked my elder one what are you wearing she decided to wear some western dressing but when I suggested eastern wear she was easily convinced by my suggestion. Does your kids accept your suuggestions?

When I was a kid it was not a matter of suggestion, I wore what my Mother wanted I to wear.

It was the same when I was a child. When my kids were young, I let them decide, but I had the final decision.

Even in my mid-twenties when I'm going to a special family event - I ask for my moms opinion to see if my clothing is appropriate for the occasion.

My children don't get a choice of what to wear. If I pick something out for them that is what they put on. If we are not leaving home then I don't care what they want to wear but going out-I decide.

I work as a nanny. The other day my 8 year old wanted to change clothes before I took him and his sister out to celebrate winter break. He picked out blue track pants with a brown stripe and a blue shirt with white stripes. I suggested something that matched a bit more (and that fit a bit better, the pants were a bit short) but he was insistent. I decided we were just going out for pizza and frozen yogurt so he could wear whatever he wanted.

My girls would wear nothing but skirts and dresses if I would let them. Some days I only need to add bike shorts or a sweater, sometimes I have to completely overrule their choice.

Yes, sometime my daughter accepts my suggestion, but in the other time she refuses it. I think it is normal, I never take it as serious problem.

When my children were young they wore what I wanted them to wear until they reached the teenage years and then had an opinion of what they wanted to wear

we can just suggest and advise, but the kids should have their own power of volition
