Good morning,I guess waited to long about the swelling of my ear. It was not an earache. This morning the ear looks worse and red. Mike took me to the ER early this morning.I was feeling very uncomfortable with the pain in my ear. When we got there,no problem in waiting. Yes,I waited to long and this is what they came up with. Took my blood count,I have been diagnosed with cellulitis. This is an bacterial infection of the skin. They gave me IV and a couple of prescription One is antibiotic and the other predisone. Yes,I waited to long.We spend most of the morning here at the ER Oh,also clean out my ear and put some ointment in it.This is starting to feel good. I learned a lesson,if something is wrong or happening.Do something about it How about you ?do you wait like I did or go then. The photo you see is me waiting for the doctor .

I am one that ignores pain and tries to blame it on something else. Twice it came back to bite me. Five years ago I had a painful attack in my lower abdomen. I brushed it off. Two days later I was in the emergency room diagnosed with kidney stones. Two months later, I had surgery to remove the stones. The nurse said I didn't have kidney stones, I had stone kidneys. I was way too close to having my kidneys shut down and had a terrible infection. In October I was back in the emergency room with pain in my upper abdomen. They sent me home and told me I should see a cardiologist. When following up with my PCP, it was found that I may have gallstones. The ultrasound confirmed that. In November, I had my gallbladder removed. I really need to listen to what is going on with my body and get help before it is too late. You Sir, need to do the same.

Delay can worsen any situation. But when there is pain I suppose there is no other go but to rush to a doctor (lol)

Sorry about this, but at least you got it seen to in the end. I tend to leave things too long myself, hoping they will go away on their own. (They often do!)

Good you got it taken care of. It probably would have kept getting worse.

Prednisone is like steroids right? Well, for me, I normally wait it out until I can't handle it anymore. Although I'm a scaredy cat, I still wait it out because I feel that being in the hospital is scarier than my current predicament.

@amadeo Glad they took care of it. If I think it is something and I cannot get in to see the doctor earlier then I wait till I have my appointment like now. I suffered with the cough but he had to prescribe something. I will get it next week and will see him earlier next month to let him know if ok or not.

At least you're smiling - a good attitude goes a long way. I have waited too long before and ended up with pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon.
