A big time winner at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport

United States

I guess someone sat at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a hand-held clicker and counted the travelers who walked through the doors. That must be quite a job. One person walked into that airport as a passenger and walked out as a winner One Hundred Million passengers in a year and it's the only airport to be able to claim that. The man who made it the 100 million is a big time winner of a new car, two tickets to anywhere and a $500 gift card. Many years ago I spent time at that airport but my more recent experience with it is driving south on I-75 and looking at the sky to see the planes right above my head in the process of landing or taking off. That's as close as I get to flying. Unfortunately I didn't catch the man's name, but I'm sure he's on a high! Photo: pixabay.com/en/plane-aircraft-take-off-sky-50893/

What a lucky guy. I don't fly either, I'm not afraid I just don't like their rules. There is plenty to see right here in the good ol US of A. I can drive and I'm in charge.

@fishtiger58 Who isn't on a fixed income. But we don't camp - camping to me is the Holiday Inn.

We only drive within an 8 hour ride...now more than that...that's my rule.

@AbbyGreenhill Sounds good. we will go a bit farther, but we camp along the way so it's not so darn expensive. We are on a fixed income.

@AbbyGreenhill I know, but when you arrive from Europe and you have to catch a connection it's horrible and every time we transited through that airport, our bags arrived at final destination one or two days later.

@LadyDuck That can happen at any airport. When we came back from our honeymoon in Grand Cayman they lost our luggage between there and Charlotte - we had to say at a hotel (due to weather) and I had nothing with me - couldn't' even take my contacts out! They del. our luggage to our home 2 days later - with my wet bathing suit still wet in the bag!

Wow how lucky for that man who walked through as their 100 million customer. He's probably one of the few people who had a good experience traveling the last few days

That is one lucky man! We fly when we can't drive - over oceans, but usually we are driving. Atlanta is an interesting airport, can't remember when i was there last but I too watch the planes as we drive by.

People who live where I live travel the 2 hours to that airport because it's cheaper than flying out of Knoxville or Chattanooga....I'd rather pay more an not drive to ATL, not my favorite ride in the world.

That is amazing. Good for him. It is a busy airport. The last time I flew out of that airport was in March 2010 when my husband and I flew to Tucson Arizona to visit two of his sisters who live there.

The last time I was there was in the 80's...My last flight was in 1998 - and I have no desire to fly ever again.

I had a weird experience at that airport. Some day I'll write about it. That's a lot of traffic!

Sure is a lot of traffic - and they just made a new exit off the interstate for that airport.
