Poem Disinclined

Created in response to a word challenge set by @Jessicalynnt using the words trees, orange, stinky, resolution, and cranky. In a separate post I am adding my latest Haiku set which has each of the five Haiku using one of these five words too. Arthur. Disinclined. I think you’ll find I have absolutely no resolution For leading the revolution. I’m frankly cranky About the whole stinky mess But why should it be down to me to address The situation and set our country free? I don’t even know what to do about my neighbour’s tree Branches growing over my garden fence So don’t expect me to leas the people’s defence. I’m a lazy blighter, not a freedom fighter. I have no Agent Orange or Napalm I’m staying here, cowardly, comfy and calm Hoping to vote next general election Praying the ministers in the next cabinet selection Will do what’s right While I try to sleep at night As my neighbour’s branches bring gloom And darkness over the privacy of my room Apathy rules – politics is for fools Leave me alone – let me moan Knowing I have zero resolution To lead the revolution.
