Was it a Dream or Not?

Recently there have been quite a few bushfires in my area and there are often announcements about these bushfires and what individuals need to do, This morning at 2am I was awakened by my radio which I must have forgotten to turn off. There was a warning about a bushfire quite close to me but on the other side of the highway so probably not too close to my house. Residents were being advised that if they were going to move to a safe area they needed to move now and also let neighbours know about this announcement as obviously most people were asleep at 2am. As I was lying there I thought perhaps I should put on day clothes in case of having to move, then I thought about which neighbours do I let know and thirdly I had determined I would just take Diesel dog and myself off in the car, everything else could remain in my home. Finally, I fell asleep and when I awoke in the morning I couldn't find any advice on my bushfire. I had been sleepy when I heard it and wondered, could it have been a dream. Later that day my son messaged me a website describing the bush fire, which made me happy because I knew I hadn't been dreaming. Then he said Mum if the fire spreads can you just pick up my Stereo on your way to the car, hehe. So now I have 3 things to remember if I ever have to escape, so far however I think I am safe

That was probably the same fire we saw from Madora Bay. It was a little north of where we were staying although only a few blocks. I doubt it was big enough that they were telling people to leave although everyone gets very antsy about bushfires now. Have you got your photo albums by the door like I have? And don't forget the hard drive off your computer.

@JudyEv Good idea about the Photo Albums, I'll have to organise that. I feel as if I am in the middle of the big fires now but neither are coming my way. There is always the ocean 5 minutes away as well

@glenniah It seems to just keep creeping southwards. Harvey residents are being told to leave now. It's pretty scary. There have been some great photos of the clouds of smoke.

Judy Evans, who lives in Australia also, (you may know her on here) also posted something about the bush fires near her in Australia. We have had, in the past, a few wild fires spring up near my house, when we were in "drought" conditions, but these fires were quickly put out, as I remember. Bush fires have to be quite scary, I would imagine. Good thing you have the radio. I keep saying that I'm going to purchase an emergency radio but haven't don't that yet.

You did not dream and now you know that you have to pick up the stereo too.

@LadtDuck Fortunately the stereo is close to the car and carport. However, I don't really see me stopping to pick it up, hehe

Fires are wild creatures--never know which way they will go--a slight breeze can change their whole direction!

@GreatMartin It has been so hot and humid here and now there have been some lightning strkes which have also started up some fires. I agree you never know when the fire will turn.

Dream or not, one should always be vigilant among such looming natural disasters.....I have heard of dangerous bushfires in Australia, and I hope you don't have to face one in a dire situation
