Motorway Car Accident

It was awful yesterday driving to work as there was a huge traffic jam on the motorway. I later heard that there was a collision between two lorries, with one of them containing some chemicals that leaked on the motorway. Luckily I don't think anyone was seriously hurt, but the motorway spillage had to be cleaned up which took nearly all day yesterday.
I was stuck in traffic for a few hours and was late for work. Thankfully my manager was understanding
Glad no one was hurt in the accident.

It would have been a little unreasonable for your boss to not be understanding! What would a non-understanding boss expect you to do ... abandon your car on the motorway and walk?! *laughs*

I used to work for a company where we had to sign in every day. If we were 5 minutes late we got a yellow mark. If we were 15 minutes late we got a red mark. A certain number of red/yellow marks in any quarter would lead to disciplinary action. This was despite the fact that people would just work later to compensate for their late arrival.
I travelled from Manchester to Liverpool everyday along the M62. I lost count of the number of red marks I received due to accidents on the motorway. I actually got a written warning at one point. I found another job. I refused to be punished for something that was completely outside of my control! For some reason they were surprised at my attitude!!!

Sorry you were late, but am very glad no one was hurt. I can imagine it wasn't fun for the road crew in charge of cleaning up the mess of chemicals!

Good to hear that no one was hurt. I would hope your manager was understanding. Not much you could do about it.

Sorry you were late a few hours but glad everyone was alright! Traffic is very bad when it's rush hour to work with an accident also!
