Their Bun, Her Oven

50-ish Plaino, Texas grandmother, Tracey Thompson, gave birth to her own grandchild. Her daughter and son-in-law had been trying to have a child for quite a long time. After three heartbreaking miscarriages they were going to the next step of infertility treatments when Tracey gave them another option. She would carry the baby. The last four embryos were implanted last April and today (Friday) they all went home with the newest family member, Kelcey McKissack. Grandmother had a cesarean delivery and all are fine. The baby was 6 pounds 11 ounces. Isn't this a touching story?

I have heard about others doing this, at least the baby is in the family, she can see the little thing she carried for nine months.

I have read of other stories such as this. I had too many problems with my own miscarriages and I won't be a good person to do this. I am happy she has done this and I am sure she'll have one fantastic story to tell her grand child.

I have heard of a similar story as well. Grandmother had C-section of her own grand child, but I don't think the woman had a miscarriage, she was just infertile.

That mother gave the best gift of life to her daughter. The gift of her grandchild that she carried. I heard the story on the news.

I've heard of that happening before in England. It's truly a wonderful thing for a mother to do for her daughter (and granddaughter).

I don't know if I could give away a baby I carried for nine months. I do understand the grandmothers sentiment, and the children's gratitude.

Very touching story. I can not have kids because of my medical condition so my sister said she would carry one for me when I was ready to have a kid

It is a very touching story. Fortunately by daughter was able to have children but if she had had any problems, I would have done what I could to help her.

No because many people know the story--kids are cruel and that kid will have a rough time begin teased and bullied. The family will also be made fun of and how does the grandmother not be a mother to the child?

She isn't the first who has done the same thing. Never having had kids I certainly wouldn't want to be preggers at that age.

Shows what a mother can do for her daughter. A true heart touching story. A few more surrogate deliveries like this and people won't go childless anymore.
