I didn't go out walking today it was cold but we did go for a drive and we went looking for the sinkhole. We actually found it which pretty much surprised us since we weren't exactly sure where it is. Turns out it isn't all that far away probably less than a half mile.
I am including a picture. I took it with my phone, it is not very good it was too bright the direction I had to take it. I have a couple of better ones but this one shows how close the houses are to the two holes. I will out one of the others in a comment.

Yikes!! I hope no one goes to bed and wakes up under their house like that one guy in Florida. They never did recover his body.

I know that is really bad, it is one of the risks of living in Florida these days.

They are nasty looking. Some sinkholes can take a car or even a house down with it.

It is an insurance dispute about who will pay for the repair.

@BelleStarr If it doesn't that will be good. I've heard of others that kept right on growing and got real huge and some even collapsed roads.

That is very scary! All the people living around that, I am sure they have reported it , right? It needs to be tended to.

Its now an insurance issue between the water company and the Hoa and homeowner. Could be a while, it is over a month already.

The good news is no one was living in the one closet to the big hole.

@BelleStarr That's good to know. I would be very worried if I were some of these home owners.

They blocked off the road and they put in a detour.

Yikes! @BelleStarr , that is scary, I would be freaked out if my home was close to that! Is there something they can do? Maybe have them filled? Figure out a way to stop them forming? Eek!

@bluesa Insurance companies are not known for having a heart at least not in this country.

Until they determine who is responsible for the repairs they can't do anything. It is over a month.

@BelleStarr , that is just not right! They are not thinking about the safety of the families in the homes close to that! Shame on them. I hope it will be resolved soon.

i'm surprised at the irregular shape. i thought they would be one huge hole. still scary, though.
i actually like your picture because you said it was cold yet it's so bright and sunny outside, you'd think it was an ordinary day just like here.

The good news is we met some neighbors who were also over looking at the holes in the ground.

We had one around here, it was next to the freeway, next to that was an apartment complex, so this sink hole was in the middle of both, two cars went down ,they were gone, it took them a long time to make this safe again. Never seen nothing like it before, very scary, the people living near it, couldn't get out because the hole was in front and they were hoping it didn't get any bigger. They had to make a ramp for them to get around this hole.

I think this one honestly was caused by the million gallons of water but the insurance will have to decide who is responsible.

They can't decide if the sink hole cause the water main to break or vice versa. Once they determine that we will know how worried to be.

No I don't believe so but Florida is prone to these because of the soil.
