My brother and I both have an account with Facebook. We normally browse through it each evening while watching TV. Some things are pretty funny and of course you want to share these with your friends. But sometimes sharing things can be a little much.
One of my brother's ex-coworkers shared something with her friends and we were both so shocked and disgusted that she would even think that it was okay to share. It was a picture of a baby girl lying next to a curb. I don't know if she was deceased or not but she looked like it and there was blood everywhere. The caption said, "This will happen to you if you don't type 'Amen' and share".
Like I said, I don't know if she was really deceased or if the picture was even real but to me it was in very very poor taste. I think this is carrying things a little too far on Facebook. My brother was so appalled that he didn't even know what to say but he did unfriend this person. If it were me, I would have reported it to Facebook.
This has made me not even want to go on Facebook anymore. I don't think any of my friends would forward such a thing but you never know. What would you have done in this situation?

I hate those kind of messages that say if you don't share this and that will happen

People share all kinds of rubbish on facebook, and it reflects poorly upon them. I don't think they even give it a second thought before sharing, how would it make them seem and what others would think. The viral pictures are shared more in this manner, and people seem to get a kick out of sharing them, irrespective of whether they are worth sharing or not.

It's the same like, posting images of people who are sick and saying each like will donate a dollar or something towards the medical expenses of that person. That is so absurd. And sick, using someone's situation to gather likes and popularity. Reporting it to Facebook is a great idea as well as hiding the post. I feel dismayed when people actually fall for it.

I limit my Facebook friends to my immediate family and a couple of real friends. None of them would pass on "chain letters" of this sort.

@simone10 It is sad when you find out your friends aren't as level headed as you thought they were. Bummer.

I have not come across such pictures. I will not befriend someone, but I do unfollow some Facebook friends if they always post something that not interest me. I do not like my wall to be bombarded with not useful or positive posts, and disturbing me from reading other more meaningful posts.

I would immediately delete (unfriend) such a kind of 'friend' (everyone is 'friend' on facebook), if I come across such a disgusting post. I neither believe in checking such posts nor do I share such posts on Facebook.

I would have reported them to Facebook for such emotional blackmail and use of viral ways to promote extreme evangelism

I never forward any that are of a religious nature. God does not punish people who don't forward messages, I find it offensive.

@simone10 The funny thing is some of them are sent by friends I know are religious, I can't believe that they aren't appalled by these as well. I just got one yesterday to stand up for Christ, Ya know what, I am not sure Jesus has a Facebook account!! He knows what is in my heart, I don't need to paste it all over Facebook. Seriously!! what are people thinking?

Just report it to facebook, remove the post or block that person. It is very uncalled for to post such morbid things.
