When Life Gives You Lemons

I really hate to whine and complain, I am a happy person. I have talked about all the people who have died around me in the last few weeks. Well it isn't over yet. On Saturday night my nephew died in his sleep. He is my sister's oldest son and only 8 months younger than me, 64 years old. He was one of the sweetest people I have ever met, not a mean bone in his body. I can't get home for the funeral but I have talked to my niece and expressed my condolences, my sister was not up to talking.
On Friday, I got a call from my grandson Alex. He had asked to borrow our mini van since his key broke off in his ignition and he needed to get to work. On the way home, the transmission went on our car. He was stuck in a very bad place and had no idea what to do. We have AAA so he was able to be towed to safety.
Sometimes it seems like bad luck is our middle name but I know I am blessed and have so many good things in my life. This is just a car and a second car at that so we will just have to see if it can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. But not until we get back.
My oldest friend will be here for a visit on Thursday and my niece may be coming down in February. Life is filled with ups and down, good and bad, happy and sad. It is just life.

@LadyDuck Thanks Anna, as we all know once we get to a certain age, these things will pass too and life goes on but things are never quite the same are they without some of the people in our lives.

@just4him I know you are faith filled and will make it through this disappointment. I know how disappointed you must be to have to fix your car instead of getting your computer.

I try to see the positive in everything but somethings are just sad and life goes on anyway. Thank you for the positive thoughts.

I am sorry for your loss, you have my sympathies. I hope that your loved ones passing comes to an end now too!
There was good news that your grandson wasn't hurt when the vehicle decided to malfunction. I think that is the silver lining to this dark cloud isn't it?

Yes it was, a car is just a car, Alex is a very special grandson. He is my house and dog sitter too so I rely on him to go to Florida.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for all the troubles your going through. I'll be sending prayers for you and your family. Sometimes a lot of bad things hit us at once but they will make us appreciate the good things that much better.
