Is your Walmart location closing?

United States

Walmart is closing a lot of stores and some of you are wondering if yours is closing. I wondered the same thing since the closest one to us is only two years old, very small and never really busy. I found a link that has the list of all the store and dates that they will close. I could have copied the list here but it's long, so use the link. The link takes a little while to open, give it time!

Thank goodness our Wal-Mart Super Center is not closing. Our town would really be hurt if it did.

Luckily none of our local ones are closing. All of our Walmarts are always busy - so I always assumed Walmart didn't have "problems".

@AbbyGreenhill Our Kmart closed down years ago - it had become a mess of store. There is one about 30 minutes away, but it's not worth the drive just to go to Kmart. I hear some Macy's are closing too!!

I was surprised to hear they are closing so many. And around here - 1 hour away - they are closing K-mart.

Not near me, but if it did, it wouldn't break my heart. I try to support smaller businesses plus walmart was not nice to my neighbor's son who worked there. Out of 365 days in the year, he only asked for New Years Eve off because his parents always threw a party and yet they scheduled him on that day.

@AbbyGreenhill We have K-Mart, who I support as much as I am able, then for groceries, I love Krogers because we get discounts on fuel and I get free minutes on my phone through their loyalty rewards card. The only other place I would shop is the health food store (I mean not even walmart has the stuff I use) so I really don't have a reason to shop there unless one of the local stores doesn't have what I need.

And I am not saying the employees are not nice, it was either management or someone who did this plus I prefer to buy American made.

I have heard many stories about Walmart...but my husband and I did merchandising work a few years ago and one of the jobs we had was Walmart. We were treated very well and the store employees and management were helpful which we had been told wouldn't be the case. I guess it depends on many factors. We have no small business in our area, Walmart, KMart or online shopping are our options.

We bought a few heavy items from their website - stuff we couldn't possibly carry like a 250 pound bench.

I have read about that just yesterday, according to the list above none are closing in Ohio. I'm glad because I do a lot of shopping there and also get my meds there.

When we had BC/BS insurance we got our meds there too, but one I take they never stocked so I always had to keep going back a few times to find out if they came in or not. It was a pain. We get ours in the mail now.

@AbbyGreenhill Yea they aren't too efficient at times in keeping certain meds in stock. I hate to have to go bck and forth trying to get my meds.

@AbbyGreenhill no I did not look at the link. I had read an account or two when the story broke yesterday that indicated that tge Super Centers were being left open. Either they were wrong or mt memory is off. Thank you for setting me straight.
