I got a call from one of my "repeat customers" in the world of vintage loudspeaker restoration earlier this week. He said he has two pairs of speakers that need some work. I'm going to drive down to his shop and pick them up this afternoon.
That means I should have a couple of weeks worth of "projects" to work on. I think one is a pair of Advents and the other is a smaller pair by a good company called A/D/S. Do you have any on-going "projects" right now? I love having a project going on in the background. It's something I can turn to any time I'm bored.
I'll attach an "after" picture of the Advents I recently sent home. I'm not sure if I've posted this one before.

Sounds like fun! Is this your side hobby (restoration)
I don't have any fun projects, just getting back to scrap booking!

I'm in the middle of fixing a Carvin power amp...cooling fan went bad...great sounding amp for about 3 minutes, then it heats up and the thermal protection kicks in. Haven't been able to locate the correct fan for it, so looks like I'll have to improvise a bit.

@TheHorse The old fan doesn't have part numbers, and I can't find the correct schematic to give me the info I need. I tried looking on several forums where other people had to replace it, and no one has seemed to know the right info either. I'm about ready to just mount a high speed cooling fan on the back of it...they're cheap, and if it doesn't work, I can try something else. Luckily, I don't currently need it, I have a bunch of power amps, but that thing is sweet, and that 1650 watts at 4 ohm mono bridged...that would really service a pair of sub cabs I have sitting around.

@JolietJake That's a pain when you don't have a good reference point. Sounds like a good amp to drive a sub with, though a sweet sounding amp might sound good in the mids and highs as well.

I have a reel to reel that needs some work. I think it's a simple fix.
