A visit to the E.R. early morning.

Good morning,after a restless sleep last night accompanied by a nasty cough. I was up for most of the night.Coughing,coughing.This is it.Going to the E.R. early this morning both of us.After breakfast and got Ms.Ruby settled we left. Luckily that the E.R.was not busy this morning. They handed a facial mask and took our vitals etc. Met the doctor,both of us are having this done.He checked us out etc. Both of us have been diagnosed with bronchitis. Prescribe over the counter medication.Cough syrup and Mucinex-D Drink plenty of fluid and rest. This is how the rest of the week will be for us. Now we got this straighten out. Have a good morning.

When I had bronchitis, several times in fact, my doctor put me on antibiotics. That was the only thing, as well as bed rest, that helped. Hope you both feel better soon.

@DianneN I am not aware that you know that they do not prescribe antibiotics any more. Are you aware of this.?

@amadeo My bronchitis turned into pneumonia three times. I know that due to overuse and building immunities against antibiotics, doctors are told not to give them out to people with colds and the flu.

So glad the docs were so receptive and awake for you two. I am sorry you got this..you will have to take the meds and take care in the impending storm Fredo. I wish you both health.

If you both have bronchitis the best is to stay inside and avoid cold weather. I hope you can feel better soon.

I didn't know that bronchitis could be treated by OTC medications. Hope you get rid of that cough quickly!!!

Sounds like you have the same as me. I too went to the Dr's this morning but now have antibiotics. I feel horrible and have done for six weeks now. I hope you both get better soon!
