Nar-Can training?

Have you heard of this? While volunteering at a homeless shelter last week, my supervisor had me watch a video about Narcan (or Naloxene) and encouraged me to get the training to have this on hand – in case an emergency ever comes up where it is needed. Essentially, it’s used for heroin overdoses – when a person stops breathing. It is literally a lifesaver. 1 cc of Narcan or Naloxene, delivered in the form of a muscle injection, and some rescue breathing – can literally mean the difference between life or death. Even though I don’t forsee myself being in a situation where this may be necessary, I thought it was cool and am going to undergo training for this – you never know. Apparently, it’s easy to get a script for this that is inexpensive. Have you heard of this, used this, or gotten training for this

Yes, i've still got a couple of vials lying around somewhere. I did a couple of courses, one at work and another when I was at a rehab place. I've seen it used twice now.

Excellent! I was so excited when I learned about it that I had to share it. Do you also keep face masks on hand -- for the rescue breathing part?

@Mike197602 Excellent! So jealous! Any advice for me or for using it? I'm going to be getting the training (well finishing it) in a week or so here...
