Want it? Hate it? Ready to run screaming when you see the word? Is it World War Three behind closed doors? One man and umpteen dozen women or how about one woman and umpteen dozen men or hey how about all women or all men? What's a man harem called anyway?

Anytime I hear about polygamy, I think, "if a guy can have more than one wife" which happens way more on this Earth, for it to be more fair, why can't a "woman have more than one husband"? That way doesn't happen as much.

@LeaPea2417 That's normal badness. Think outside the box a little.

To me, it's a super interesting subject. I like that TV show called "Sister Wives". However, I don't think I could personally live that lifestyle. I don't want to share my man, and I don't want to be shared.

@sallypup It's a show about a real family - a man and 4 (I think) wives. He is only legally married to one, though. There are 4 separate houses, the man has kids with each separate wife and are raised with each mother. The man goes around to each home, staying for a short period of time with each wife and kids. It basically just shows their everyday lives as polygamists.

@abbygreenhill I don't have cable so no TV. I did watch some of Big Love years ago and found that interesting. There were some mafia type scary folks in that show.

@sallypup I never heard of that show. I find it fascinating, not that it's for me, but they just people.

@AbbyGreenhill Big Love is an older show. There were patriarchs that were creepy- old mafia type guys that had power so they could go get a quite young woman and marry her.

You probably know the answer to this already. I have no issue with what ever love match is possible between one or more consenting adults. As long as minors aren't involved, and it's all consensual, and nobody's judgement is impaired, I'm all for it. I think one person of one gender having dozens of spice is rather unbalanced, but a threesome or a foursome or a moresome is perfectly nice. More people to earn money and take care of the kids!

God created Adam and Eve and that's the way that is best, just, loving, fair and wise.

In society now a days it seems to be more popular in a way. I couldn't imagine having multiple men, and children with them either. I'd rather be single, nor having 1 husband but 13 wives as well as myself. It downgrades your worth and self esteem.

Having redefined marriage to anybody with anybody, I don't see what legal rationale could be claimed for limiting it to just two anybodys. Polygamy is coming.

One husband is enough for me and I wouldn't be sharing him with another wife. I can't see how it would be good for anyone but if everyone in a polygamous marriage is happy with it who am I to be concerned. The ones who are kicking out all of the young men and marrying off young girls against their will, well then I have a problem with it.
