I Need Some Vitamin D

As some of you know my husband and I went to Oregon for 9 days to visit his sister. We had such a nice time and the temperatures were certainly warmer than it was in Chicago. We missed some really really cold days while we were away and I'm hoping against hope we don't have anymore of those temps. However it rained most of the time we were there. We had moments of no rain but gloomy gloomy and more gloomy. Friday the sun actually came out and it got up to 58 degrees. Glorious.
I haven't seen the sun in many days so thought I would post a shot of a favorite sunset of mine over a lake. This is on a lake in southern Illinois a few years ago.

What a stunning photo! That was Illinois yes.
Too bad it rained all the time you were in Oregon friend, but hopefully you had a pleasant visit.
Yes Chicago gets so frigid.

My doctor tried to get me to take vitamin D a few times. I asked why, he said I need it. No explanation. I took one pill, I got sick as a dog. So I stopped taking it. I was sick so bad I thought I was going to die. I think the better way to go would be a daily multi vitamin. That might work better over time.

@inertia4 I don't take vitamins at all. I'm 57 and in pretty good shape. No medical problems and no meds. And now I am knocking on wood lol.

I do too. It's a lovely spot, however this lake is an old oxbow of the Mississippi River and it's now full of Asian Carp. We fished it a couple of years ago and not one bite. It used to be full of blue gill, crappie and catfish. We couldn't catch a thing except Asian Carp jumping into our boat.

We have had very little sun in the last two weeks. Yesterday was bright but so windy and cold it wans't fun being outside. Today should be 52 and the sun is out.

what a beautiful pic! i kinda wanted to jest climb through the puter screen'n sit'pon that deck 'n dip my toes in...durin' the warmth'f summer anyhow, lol.
i'm with ya 'n that many days lackin' sunshine'll sure put me'n a mood. glad'ja got't least a brief reprieve from the cold though.

Wow, beautiful scenery! Here in our place it is winter but mostly sunny, warm, clear sky . . NO SNOW! I love it! Lots of vitamin D from the sun!

We had a pretty big snow storm yesterday. Only about 4 inches but the winds were very strong so we had lots of drifting snow. The snow drift in my driveway was 2 or 3 feet deep. Thanks

What a beautiful picture. I am glad you were able to miss the chilly temps of Chicago while you were away. I hope they won't come back around for you. We are warming up now but had a few days of snow and chilly 20's temps!

Wow! That's a beautiful picture. I'm sorry you had such a gloomy time in Oregon. We're missing the storm system hitting the east coast 
. Maybe next time it will come our way.
Have you thought about making calendars of your many pictures for your family and friends for Christmas? I'm sure they would love it. I also hope you pursue those photo contests. I'm sure any of the ones you've posted would be winners.
