Yesterday a 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake has hit Alaska.
Two smaller earthquakes hit one was a 4.2 and the other a 3.0. that stuck within 30 minutes of the larger quake.
It was said that the The quake's epicenter hit near Cook Inlet, 162 miles southwest of Anchorage.
It was about 50 miles deep.
It seems that at first it felt soft but then it kept getting bigger.

Yes I read about that Marcy.
I hope that no one was injured and that the damage was not too much.
Hard enough living in Alaska I imagine.

@TiarasOceanView Hoping that there was not too much damage and people were not injured too badly. Yep I would not want to be living there.

We don't have earthquakes where I live so I have no idea what it is like but I know it can cause damage and take away peoples lives which is very scary. I hope this one didn't cause too much damage or injure / kill anyone.

@Marcyaz I have only seen Earthquakes in movies or on the news and yeah I know what you mean. I've at least seen dry land because of droughts but I would freak out watching land open up from an Earthquake.
When I was little, I went to this place here called SciTech. It is still around today and I've been quite a lot but it's a place where you can learn all sorts of things but when I was little, the place had a little house built inside and you sit in it, and it starts to shake to get you to experience an Earthquake. It was fun but at the same time it gives you a feel of what can happen and it tells you what to do if you were ever in that situation. When I say house it was more like a very small room. It was as if you were sitting in a small kitchen.
Great experience but hope I never experience the real thing.
