Not this Saturday but the Saturday afterwards I am hoping to get together with a friend. Hopefully we will be able to get another friend to join us and have a bit of fun together.
It has been entirely too long since I've last seen them. We will most likely just have a little bit of food and maybe a couple of drinks. I don't get to see them as often as I would like but hoping with my new schedule I"ll be able to see them a bit more often.

I am sure I will. I've known this friend the longest, and we are more like family. Work and family life just keeps getting in our way.

I am also going to see some friends, but it will be this Saturday. We will be celebrating a friend's birthday and I know that it is another chance for me to eat Filipino foods which I haven't had in a while. The last time I have seen them was during our New Year's Eve celebration. Since then we have been busy with work and life.
I am sure you guys are gonna have fun!

Yes life just gets in the way of having fun with friends and family! I hope you enjoy time with your friends. I think we are going to eat at a friend's house, but if not it would either be Greek or Mexican food (most likely).
I've not tried Filipino food yet.

Friday afternoon my three year old granddaughter is coming for a ten day "vacation" while mommy and daddy go to a resort. We plan to have lots of fun.

It's good to see your friends for a long time.You get together in buffet restaurants during dinners and just enjoy the food and talk about each other lives.

Buffet restaurants are always the most fun as well. We've done that a few times but it can get expensive. I think this time one is cooking, I'll bring something though for sure.

I learned that the hard way once. Sort of shut these same friends out of my life for a few years but am so glad that they are back now and understood why I did it.2 people like this

@ScribbledAdNauseum I hope you'll have a great time with your friends. It's been almost a year since I got along with my close friend in highschool. I like getting together with old friends but since we all got married , it never been easy to catch up with one another.

I understand what you mean. Life and obligation makes it hard to see our good friends. I was married (now divorced) for a few years and hardly saw my friends in that time period.

Yes unfortunately. If there were no need for different shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and everything closed at 9 pm (Like many things do in other countries) it would make a huge difference.

It seems like all we can make time for is a bite to eat and a drink. We've not properly hung out and did something fun in ages. Such is the adult life.
