Now I know why I have been exhausted recently. Seems like my immune system has been trying to fight the cold virus and seems to be losing the fight so far. I woke up today with swollen sore throat and a temperature. I was wondering if anyone has any great natural remedies or tricks to help with sore throats? I have to go to work soon which involves talking to clients all day on the phone so I really could do with some advice!! Thanks in advance

I confirm what @fishtiger58 suggested to you. Cover your throat if you can, keep it warm.

Sometimes just covering the throat can solve the problem.

I have heard that honey and lemon in warm water is helpful. I rarely get sore throats and have never had a temperature in my life. I also have a natural immunity to flu, I have never had the flu either. The common cold however kicks my butt.

@gudheart No never had a temperature. I remember one time my hubby was really sick, he had a raging temperature and was talking crazy stuff. I thought he was yanking my chain. I did some research and found that with a high temperature things like that can happen. I had no idea.

Honey and tea always works great or you can gurgle with warm salt water.

Salt. My grandmother used salt when I was a small girl. Run the tap water as hot as you can, There is certain amount of salt, the more the better. Then gargle with this.

Hope it doesn't develop into a fully-blown snot-filled cold. I just have Lockets or Lemsip when I have a sore throat.
