Are you a tea person or a coffee person?

I am a tea person. Actually, I don't like coffee, and that includes anything coffee flavored as well as the smell. I like pretty much all black tea, green tea, etc. I can only drink caffeinated tea before noon, though, or it will keep me awake. Unfortunately, I'm not especially fond of most herbal teas. If I want a hot drink in the afternoon or evening, I sometimes have rooibus tea, ginger tea or yuzucha, a tea made of citrus rind cooked in honey. Or sometimes I make hot lemonade. Am I strange? Japanese people expect foreigners to love coffee and they are surprised by me, then delighted that I love green tea. But a lot of friends from my college days drink only herbal tea, or only milk tea, etc. One friend who is nearing retirement doesn't like any hot drinks and says, "I'm a kid in disguise." What about you? Coffee, tea, both or neither?

@petatonicsca I'm an Earl Grey man myself. However my job requires me to drink whatever is offered to me and some people just refuse to give me tea without milk which I find very hard to have in my mouth. I gave up coffee 8 years ago with no ill effects. And tea is such an interesting drink. I order mine online and the variety is boundless.

Both beverages, depending on time of day or occasion or mood. Not keen on Rooibos tea, but others in the house like it and other herbal or fruit teas.

I think Rooibus is also an acquired taste, and I only decided last year that I like it.

@petatonicsca It can tastes a bit medicinal, Redbush tea - best made in its own pot, or the next pot of black tea you make will taste awful.

People widely believe that all Brits are addicted to tea. I don't drink it at all.

I'm a tea drinker. I don't like the taste of coffee, but I do like its aroma. I like almost all teas, herbals too. There was one I found I didn't like, and I can't remember which one it was, nor do I like lemon in my tea - ugh.

I only like lemon in iced tea. Hot tea I like plain or with milk. Chai is good too.

@just4him I make my own. Then I can put the spices I like in it. Also soy milk. Also no sugar (I use stevia.)

I have to have a minimum of three cups a day or I have a headache the next day. I enjoy all types of tea as well. caffeinated tea will keep me awake worse than coffee will.

I start the day with about four cups of strong black, freshly ground coffee, then have another cup or two or three later. In winter, I like hot black tea for lunch and strong ice tea in the summer. Later in the afternoon, I like green tea a lot and then some Sleepytime Tea at bed time.

I read that as "strong ice cream." Well, that would be good too.

We only like instant coffee or we might have weak black tea, no sugar. Shop-bought coffee is too strong for me although Vince enjoys a latte.

I am mainly a coffee drinker, but I also like tea. I tend to take a thermos of tea to work as I don't feel I should help myself to coffee in the various staff rooms. And some days I wouldn't ever get time to go to the staff room anyway.

I don't ofen drink tea unless I am in the restaurant. Because here they will offer you tea to drink. Today I tend to drink more coffee because I will feel energetic after drinking it.

What kind of tea do they serve where you are? Here, green tea is free. Black (Western) tea costs like coffee does. Mugi-cha (barley tea) is also free. Chinese teas cost some money too, unless you are in a Chinese restaurant.

I am primarily a coffee drinker. I enjoy it iced or hot, black or with a bit of sweet cream, or sometimes all fancied up in a machiatto. I also drink hot tea from time to time and iced tea often during the hotter months.

One always hears how good green tea is, but I find the taste vile. For me it's black tea. Darjeeling mixed with Earl Grey.

@Auntylou That's lucky. I cannot stand coffee and have to force myself to drink tea. Such a pity.
