So, my wife likes to make Shepard's Pie once in awhile. The first time that I tried it, fell in love with it absolutely. I like Shepard's Pie, and especially when she puts a lot of cheese on top of it. It is very tasty. Like I said earlier, I've never tried Shepard's Pie before. I'm use to eating Thai food, as my mother is from Thailand. Than, when I met my wife, she started cooking me some American food that I've never heard of before. Sure, I've had American food, but, not some of the things that she's cooked before. So, tell me, what do you think of Shepard's Pie? Have you ever tried it before?

Obviously I know what it is but just wondered as you're from the UK too do you see shepherds pie as with lamb and cottage pie with minced beef? I looked it up and it seems to say the terms are interchangeable but that's not how I ever knew it?

@Mike197602 Yeah I do, love them both, Shepherds pie speaks for its self really being lamb.

@kevin1877uk thats what I thought but when I looked it up on wikipedia it didn't have its own page it just showed cottage pie and said this "The term "shepherd's pie" did not appear until 1877,[2] and since then it has been used synonymously with "cottage pie", regardless of whether the principal ingredient was beef or mutton" I've always thought shepherds pie meant lamb (because of shepherds).

I love shepard's pie and make it occasionally when I'm in the mood. It takes a while to make, but it's so delicious and worth the wait.

I do like shepard's pie. I try to twist it up a bit by using mixed vegetables instead of corn and it comes out great.

I've tried it loads of times as it's a classic British dish. Normally here we call it a shepherds pie if it's made with lamb and cottage pie if it's made with beef.
