In a discussion my friend @swissheart wants to know how she can train her cat to use the toilet.
I don't know how she can train her cat,for I don't have a cat.Would it be right for me to respond to the discussion saying,'Sorry,no idea.I don't have a cat.'?Or,is the discussion not for me and I should proceed ahead?

@Morleyhunt,That's exactly what I did.I had no answer,so I left and proceeded ahead to another discussion.

I have many times expressed that I did not have an answer on how to do something or what something meant or did. In the case of teaching a cat to use the toilet, I think there might be a YouTube video for it, as there is for just about everything.

@just4him Because the sentence 'I don't know' would be a response and we are paid for responses,I mean, for interaction. You may as well see the guidelines. The discussion was for those who can guide the initiator,I was unable to guide her. So,why should I have responded.

Be honest and tell her that you have no idea how to do this.

@zebra2222,I didn't do that.I had nothing of value for her,so I simply left the discussion and proceeded to another one.If I had responded to her saying I have no idea,it would have been a response.

it would depend on you.. if you think it's better to just leave the discussion then maybe it would not affect or it could not be enough for your friend to get easily offended..

You should let her know about it that you don't have a cat.

@iamshane487,But to say that to her,I would have to respond to the discussion which would have been violation of guidelines.

sometimes people do, sometimes they don't I guess that is up to you. or you could say, I have no idea, but I am curious to see how well it works for you, I can't imagine a litter box being a fun thing to clean.

@JudyEv,I,for one, thought a little and then left it thinking that it may be against the guidelines.@JolietJack too is of the same opinion. She is asking a question of which I have no answer.Clearly, the question is not for me.I would leave.
