Lead Foot....

I consider myself a fairly good driver. I don't get speeding tickets. Or atleast it has been many, many years since I have gotten one. There is this stretch of road right on the edge of town here that I take often. It goes on for atleast 3 or 4 miles. The speed limit is 45 miles an hour. And I tend to zone out on this street and get a lead foot without realizing it. I always say that if I am going to get a speeding ticket it is going to be on this street. One thing I try to do to help with this problem is set my cruise control, but sometimes I forget. Are there moments that you have a lead foot, if you are a driver? Or have you ever been a passenger with someone who has a lead foot?

Never had a speeding ticket, which I'm lucky not to have. I think on some roads the speed limit isn't right, ok I know it there for a reason for the speed limit but sometimes I can't see the reason why

You are lucky. I don't understand some speed limits either.

@kevin1877uk I agree, but like you said, they are there for a reason. Mostly for safety.

I've been accused of having a lead foot but I think I was probably worse in my younger days. I still like to get where i'm going though

I was terrible when I was younger. I guess I didn't know any better back then

Those are the roads that make cruise control a blessing.

@T_gray You can go 5 miles over without anyone stopping you, and I'm generally in that area. So no worries.

When I'm in a hurry to get home and I'm in a quiet stretch of road I might exceed the speed limit too. My husband's car has cruise control and beeps frantically if you go too fast but my little car doesn't have such luxuries.

My car is pretty basic too. But I am happy that it is does have a working cruise control.

@T_gray The cruise control is really useful especially on long roads.

@JudyEv It is, and i think this is the first car I have had with a working cruise control. So I love it and use it often.
