Vegetable snacks in my diet.

Eating healthy for weight loss means having to change a lot of things in the way of eating. Snacks are the hardest, I have found. After reading several booklets by nutricionists, I have discovered that eating tuna in water is not enough. Canned food should not be used much for the salt in packing.
So I am munching celery and carrots and today, as my lunch was quite devoid of carbs, I steamed some cauliflower and broccoli and dressed it with light greek yogurt seasoned with chives from my herb garden.
It was yummy and very substancial.
I have a bit of leftover roasted turkey for dinner and I´ll have a green salad on the side.
What will you have for dinner? What sort of snacks do you eat?

I love italian food, but unfortunatly this includes all sorts of pasta dishes. What I´m doing now is cutting on the sizes of the dishes as I will not stop eating them completly.

I never had weight problems until I quit smoking. Then I put on more weight duriing my chemotherapy as I did not have much energy to do any exercise.

I do not snack much. Unless there is food sitting out then I take whatever is within reach. I have a nice box of cut up celery though, and I like that. Hubby bought some bratwurst that has jalapeno and cheese, we will see if I eat it. No bread. We do have saurkraut and I will make guacamole to go with our meal. I have eaten canned salmon twice this week. It makes my blood sugar lower, not sure why, but it is a good thing. I like soups with lots of veggies.

I stopped eating bread this week. And I am eating celery, raw carrots and more fruit instead of my loved salami.

I also eat a lot of vegetables for snacks, and I am also a fan of beans. Those are my favorites. Not going to lie, if I am out of groceries, I will hit up a vending machine if need be just to sustain me for a little while. Tonight I have leftover chili from a few days ago!

I hardly ever eat dry beans as they cause me digestive problems. But I eat chick peas that I can buy with no skin and I also love lentils.

I too am trying to eat more veggies - preferably raw. I am eating dandelion greens daily (just washed and raw) for breakfast and as part of my in-between meal snack. We have tuna at least once a week - we get the one packed in tuna with no salt.

If you like tuna but worried about the salt buy the can with no salt. Tonight I'm having baked pork chops, baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli

I am not so fond of tuna, but it is easy to open a can if I´m alone. Today I will have thick eggplant slices cooked in homemade tomate sauce. I will add a tablespoon of cooked rice on the side.
