Snow in the Mountains; Heat in the Valley

For all the Superbowl fans out there, it is going to be a beautiful weekend in the San Francisco area. The high on Superbowl Sunday will be about 65; the low will be 51.
All of California is gorgeous this week.
I've attached a photo of the view from my community this week ... snow in the mountains, with sunshine and palm trees in the valley. The high here in Los Angeles on Superbowl Sunday is expected to be about 75 degrees ... and by the middle of next week it will be 85 degrees in the middle of February!
The only problem is that we REALLY need some rain in Southern California. If we don't get it in February and March, here in So Cal we may not get rain again until next Christmas.
As much as I love sunshine, let's all pray for a little rain, too!

You're correct, @JudyEv. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we've had some good rains. @ElizabethWallace and Deborah are my neighbors about 400 miles South, and they've had less rain so far.

We definitely need more rain throughout the state. I hope El Nino doesn't poop out on us, either.

The view is really beautiful. Hopefully, you get rain so that weather could become more cooler.

I don't mind if it gets cooler or stays warm, as long as rain comes with it.

@ElizabethWallace - LOL - That's true that we don't need cold weather, just rain.

We don't want or need it to get cold, just wet.

@ElizabethWallace - I have heard that wars in the future could very well be fought over water. That is seeming like it could be increasingly possible.

Since weather and storms travel around the globe, it makes sense that your mountains are not getting much snow, since ours are not either.

Oregon has had so much snow and rain that our drought conditions are pretty much ok this year. I do hope that southern Calif gets some of that much needed moisture very soon.

I'm glad to hear that you guys have gotten plenty of moisture up north. Send some our way, please!

I agree completely. Let's have two weeks of summer, then a few days of a good soaking rain with snow in the Sierras. Repeat over and over for the next two or three months. That should do it.

I hope you get that rain. We had high 80's Wednesday and today it was in the 50s. In between we had a lot of rain.

Wow! 80s in Connecticut in February is almost unheard of. We are having 80s in Southern California this week, too. It has been a warm, dry winter for us.

I hope you don't have that awful drought again. We reached a sunny 80 degrees here, with a light ocean breeze. We had a 15 minute rain this evening. I am hoping to sleep with no air conditioning again. Our sunshine state has been affected by El NiƱo this year.

We are definitely still in the middle of a drought here in Southern California and the prospects are growing dimmer each day that El Nino will get us out of it.

@Hannihar - We finally got a little rain this week. It was very appreciated, even though it caused some avalanches in the mountains.

Our area is not getting the usual winter snow. This could be detrimental to the agriculture as the water table will begin to drop.

Yes, the lack of rain is hurting agriculture in California, too. To make matters worse, the Central Valley of California produces 1/2 of all the fruits, vegetables and nuts that are consumed in the United States.

Ahhh! We have a similar problem here. If we don't get more rain, we will have a terrible fire season in California.
