Small Changes

I'm hoping to lose some weight. I've lost a little in the last couple months. Initially, it's the weirdest thing, it actually happened without me trying. That NEVER happens to me. But basically, i was working weird hours at a temporary job that was somewhat physical. I didn't have time to eat much and I was getting more exercise (on top of my regular exercise). I did this enough the month of November and December that I dropped 10-15 pounds.
Once that happened, I started to be aware and have been making other small changes. I'm jogging (which I wrote about yesterday) and I'm trying to eat and drink less.
One thing that I think has helped is less consumption of wine. Another thing is that I'm making an effort to stop at firsts when I eat dinner. Another healthy change is to snack more on fruits and nuts.
These are all things I do anyway, but I'm trying to think about it more.
I haven't really started a "diet," this time around. I'm hoping that I won't have to. I'd rather make small lifestyle changes that will result in weight loss. I suppose if the rest of the weight doesn't start dropping off, I will have to make more changes.
In the meanwhile, I feel healthier. Ultimately, that's what matters, right?

I think being aware of what you are eating is better than dieting, this way you never have to feel deprived.

out of frustration yesterday I decided to jog again against my doctors wishes, and my knee started hurting again afterwards. This situation happened to me too when I was still working, I was so busy that i didn't realize i was loosing weight. anyways, good for you, sometimes being too focus on loosing weight you could do it wrong anytime.
you have to make time for exercise and diet..

@Letranknight2015 yes, they often are here too. i have to try really hard to stick with whatever is seasonal. my kids beg for strawberries this time of year, but i make them wait! eventually, they will be about half the cost.

I have always heard that making small changes works the best. I have not successfully lost much weight in years but I anticipate that I will be more active in the spring. Good for you on losing

You are doing well and by the sound of your program this is likely to continue, in fact it may even become a regular way of life. I am also trying to lose weight and have started a walking round a track several times a week but I yet to give up the biscuits.

That's definitely how to do it. Small sustainable changes and attainable goals lead to success.
