Why would you respond just to say you didn't have anything to say?

Really, isn't that fairly worthless? To you anyway?
Sure, I'll get the odd hundredth cent from it...but I am not going to comment back to that...in fact, I am simply going to delete it.
And you may earn the odd hundredth from my view of it, since I followed a link to get there...but you're really wasting my time, as well as your own.
You didn't contribute to the discussion...you DID contribute to my annoyance, but not even in a good way.
If you don't have anything to say, well, then...don't say anything.
Just move along.
It even says that in the guidelines.
If you disagree with me, that's fine...if you write a paragraph of what I think is total bull, that is fine, as well.
At least you said something.
But "I don't have a comment"?
Then don't say a word...just go on with your life somewhere else, okay?
Rant over.

@thesids

Oh yes, that is exactly right!!
Coffee (or as @JolietJake would call it, coughee), brownies, and chocolate can be shared pretty much ANYWHERE!
But to that I should not say anything to respond, because I should not speak with my mouth full!

Long back on the earlier myLot there was a Lotter who went by the name Lamb (or something that had this prefixed or suffixed) and he did not even had put the dot. And that initiated a discussion between us - and I learned that camouflage could be implemented here
Sadly, they do not want us to be successful camoflagers today

@thesids look at some of the avatars in this discussion and see if you recognise anyone
you can't, as far as I know, leave a blank space here the way you used to be able to on the old site...although I may be doing it wrong

I really think they must believe this is a pay-to-post site

They do seem to leave a lot of responses elsewhere, I guess it must work for them...maybe they'll even cash out in a few years lol

It seems to defeat the purpose of commenting, when someone says that they have nothing to say. That is no commentat all. I only will respond or comment to as discussion when I have something to say, and if I don't then I do move on, and find one that I can comment to. It really makes no sense to cmment that you have nothing to say. Good grief.

I know a lot of people will leave responses like that just to earn a comment in return. I have left comments in the past saying I do not know the answer in which you seek, but wanted to say good luck with finding the information. Hope it all works out for you. In my opinion that is not a response to get money, but shows the person that you care of there situation. I do hate it when people say I have no comment though, it clearly shows they are here for one reason only.

That kind of comment deserves to get report. It's spam. And this is why I love myLot. Every legit user is genuinely devoted to write and discuss ^^. Unlike a social site I know, almost people there are just being fake.

@JolietJake This type of person is probably just leaving a "comment" so you will comment back on one of their posts. They are only here for the few cents they will make from such nonsense.

I guess they aren't concerned that I am stopping in the middle of whatever I am doing to go check the notification, and following it to see what they had to say...if they wanted to pay my normal working wages, I wouldn't say a word, but it isn't worth my time to read nothingness...
