How are you spending Super Bowl Sunday?

I know that people in many countries write here and in some places football is what we call soccer in the US. They won't watch or care about the Super Bowl. It is a big deal in the US though. Are you going to watch the game? Not I. I have not watched football for maybe 25 years now. Today, I will work at my part-time job from 11 to 4. We are expecting a fairly slow day due to the game and all the programs leading up to it. But dedicated wild bird enthusiasts will be by to pick up suet and bird seed with stories about backyard birds and their ongoing battle with squirrels. I hope however you spend your day it will be a pleasant one. If you are a fan, I hope your team wins.

Yeah, I'll be watching the game here at my house. My wife doesn't care too much about sports, but, she says that she's pulling for the Carolina Panthers. I'll be pulling for the Broncos, as I like Peyton Manning. He use to play quarterback back in 97 for the Tennessee Vols. I love sports. I love football, and basketball. Those are my two favorite sports. I will definitely be watching the Super Bowl as I have said earlier. I cannot wait until it starts. Looking forward to seeing who will win the game!!!

@JamesHxstatic Yup!!! The score is already 10-0 Denver, all because Carolina fumbled the ball near the end zone so that way Denver can score a TD.

@danny1971 We rooted for Peyton, because Eli wasn't in this Super Bowl.

I just read on your profile that you now have a part-time job (perhaps you've had it for ages). I should think it would be quite interesting to hear everyone's stories about the birdlife in their area.

I started working there in July just 15 to hours a week, but December was almost 100 hours, so am hoping to cut back some. I have written some about birds and feeding them and have run across a few others who write about it here too. Here is a photo of my feeder, one of them anyway.

@JamesHxstatic That's a great feeder. Hopefully it lasts a few days between fills?

My Super Bowl Sunday will be spent eating out for lunch (which I'm doing right now), having an MRI at the VA hospital, finishing my laundry, and watching Puppy Bowl XII. I will check in on the score, but to me the Super Bowl has become so overhyped that it's difficult to enjoy. I'm glad the World Series isn't treated this way, or that there's only 48 hours or so between the Final Four games and the NCAA basketball championship game.

I would like to hear Lady GaGa sing the anthem though. I am sure she will make it sound great. Good luck on that MRI.

@marlina Nor am I, but it surely takes up a lot of peoples' afternoons.

Our team wasn't in it, but I hosted a small party, got to see our osprey in the palm tree, watch as he caught a fish, and had a fun filled evening rooting for Denver.

I don't really care for any sport, so I'll be spending today trying to catch up on some podcasts and videos, and hopefully getting some posts written.

Sounds like a great idea. I got off work a bit early since it was slow and took care of my bird feeders, now will do some responding.

And I thought my husband was the only man left in America who did not like to watch televised football! He played football in high school and college; and we go to the occasional live game. He does not like to watch it on TV ... too boring, he says. However, we have some friends who always have us to their annual Superbowl party. We like our friends and the other people they invite, so we go! I enjoyed the commercials!

I'm with you. I don't watch football. They lost me when they put microphones in the stands, so that you cannot watch the game without hearing people scream. I dislike noise to the max.

We watched the game. No big party though, I'm not much into that.
